The South African Social Security Body is the government agency in responsibility of administering social benefits to South Africans (SASSA).
Sassa administers grants and allowances for underprivileged groups in South African society. This includes grants for kids, seniors, and persons with impairments. Following the Covid-19 disaster, the SASSA is also in charge of presenting the R350 Award for exceptional crisis assistance.
