After the President abolished the State of Emergency, a new rule was employed to disburse the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grants (SRD) R350 grant. Beneficiaries must update their information every three months in order to keep receiving the grant.

According to the new regulations, SRD recipients had to reapply and confirm that they matched the new requirements, which included having a monthly edge of R350.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has a process in place that will let the Agency decide whether or not to keep giving beneficiaries the SRD payment.
In order for Sassa to do this, beneficiaries must submit a new version of their old R350 grant application.

To verify your current R350 grant application, take the following actions:

  • Visit the SRD webpage.

  • To access the “Reconfirm your grant application” area, scroll down.

  • Select the “Click here to confirm your existing application” link in the yellow bar.

  • Please enter your ID number.

  • Please enter your phone number.

  • To send an SMS, click the button.

  • An SMS with a One-Time Pin will be sent to you (OTP).

  • Put the Pin in.

  • Click the pin to confirm it.

  • After that, perform all the essential actions to complete the process.

SRD R350 grant applicants must resubmit their applications to Sassa at least once every three months.

The applicants’ continued need for and eligibility for the SRD grant under the revised rules shall then be communicated to the Agency.

A screening form that may be accessible on the SRD website says that current candidates can revise their answers at any time to correct mistakes or if their circumstances change.
