You have the option to challenge the judgment if your Sassa social relief grant appeal was rejected. This process will start after you give SASSA a formal notice of appeal within 30 days of learning that your application has been rejected.

The next step is for you to show up in person at the SASSA office and give your justification for thinking the judgment was flawed. As an alternative, you might pay a professional in this area to act as your representative.

  • Click the “click here to lodge an appeal or check appeal status” link to visit the appeals portal.

  • The phone number you used to apply for the grant, together with your ID.

  • When the SMS with the verification pin arrives, press “send pin.” After that, input the pin and click “submit.” To make sure you are the right person filing the appeal, this is done. Without the verification pin, the process cannot be finished.

  • The cellphone you used to build the application must be with you as well; otherwise, you will be unable to do so.

  • You need to update your information on the “srd.sassa.gov.za” website if you’ve lost or changed your smartphone. (WILL BE DONE BY JULY 1*)

  • Choose the month you want to target. It will already display the month if you only applied for one. Additionally, the system will explain the reasons your application was denied.

  • By clicking the “drop-down” arrow, please select the justification for your appeal application. Please select one of the available explanations.

  • After that, simply click “submit” to finish.
