As of the end of the National State of Disaster, new requirements for the Sassa R350 grant are in force. Here is the procedure for requesting an R350 reward under the new rules.

Applications for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant are still being accepted, but they must be submitted by March 1. One of the most popular techniques for applying for SRD awards is online.

In reaction to Covid-19 and its consequences on the economy, the South African government developed a new Sassa grant known as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) award, often known as the R350 grant.

The following eligibility requirements must be met before submitting an application:

  • South African nationals, long-term residents, refugees, asylum seekers, and holders of special permits

  • Unemployed

  • have no other way to support themselves or make a living.

  • There are no other social grants, UIFs, or NSFASs given out to anyone between the ages of 18 and 60.

How to Submit an Online R350 Grant Application in 2023

  • Check out the SRD webpage.

  • Click on the yellow bar after scrolling down to the area that says, “How can I apply for this SRD Grant?”

  • Type in your cell phone number.

  • Enter the one-time pin Sassa sent to the phone number before clicking “send sms.”

  • Sassa’s instructions should be followed in order to continue the application process.

Additionally, you can use WhatsApp to apply for R350 grants at:

  • This number should be added: 082 046 8553

  • Use this number to text a message.

  • Please provide your name, last name, and ID number in the WhatsApp message.

  • The following steps you need to take will subsequently be outlined in a message.

Because SASSA will be working with other institutions to verify the data submitted by applicants, all applicants will be required to sign a declaration and consent form.

Instead of applying many times per channel, you only need to do it once. Each applicant may submit just one application to Sassa. Following the processing of applicants’ submissions, SASSA will get in touch with the chosen candidates.
