According to SASSA, the R350 grant application process should be as easy and straightforward as is practical. Continue reading to learn how to apply for an SRD grant via GovChat as a consequence.

The second batch of R350 grant applications was made available by SASSA early in August, and it will be accepted through March 2024.

GovChat is one channel via which to submit an SRD funding application. Here’s how to approach it:

1. Go to the GovChat website

2. Enter your phone number

3. Complete the Captcha

4. Click ‘LOGIN’

5. Click on ‘SASSA Services’

6. Click on ‘SASSA Grants’

7. Click on ‘Apply for a grant

8. Click on ‘Social relief of distress (R350)’

9. Click on ‘Create New Form’

10. Fill in the required information

11. Click on ‘SUBMIT PERSONAL DETAILS’

12. After that, you will be given a reference number.

Since SASSA will be working with other institutions to verify the information provided by applicants, all applicants will need to sign a statement and consent form.

To monitor the progress of your R350 grant application, you must run an SASSA grant status check. To find out how to accomplish this, click here.

You will be paid when your application has been approved. Regardless of whether SASSA approved your R350 grant application, SASSA will check to see if you still qualify each month, so you won’t need to submit an application every time.
