The South African government provides social aid to those who are in need. The SASSA is in charge of overseeing social grants in South Africa. Social grants may be available to people who are in danger of going hungry and who require assistance from the government to improve their standard of living. The elderly, people with impairments, and parents of young children are frequently included. A South African citizen, a verified permanent resident, or a refugee must apply for a social grant (proof of such status must be provided). They must also be South African nationals.
A means test is what?
Some social benefits, including those for child support, disabilities, caregiving, and the treatment of social suffering, are subjected to a “means test.” SASSA will conduct a means test based on your income and assets to determine if you qualify for a social grant. The outcome of a means test will determine your eligibility for a grant designed for people who cannot afford to live independently.
Care dependency compensation
Grants for care dependence may be available to parents of handicapped children who are employed full-time. What total amount of funding will be distributed as part of this grant?
Every month, per child, is R1 860.
How do you determine if you qualify for the grant?
To be eligible for the care dependence award, the kid must be under the age of 18 and chronically disabled, as determined by a medical officer. If you’re married, you and your spouse must both meet the means test’s eligibility requirements. The articles mentioned below can be used to assist you with your Sassa application.
