Nsfas Bursary 2024-2025: Are you in need of financial assistance to study at a tertiary institution? Apply for a National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursary. NSFAS is a bursary scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training for those who do not have the financial means to fund their studies and cannot access bank funding, study loans or bursaries. The application for the bursary is estimated to open on 1 September and close on November 30, 2024. However only students who meet the necessary criteria will be selected to receive an NSFAS bursary. To find out if you are eligible check out this list of requirements offered by the NSFAS website.

You qualify to apply for a bursary if:

• You are a South African citizen;
• Your combined annual household income does not exceed R350 000 per annum;
• You are a SASSA grant recipient;
• You are registering for the first time for an undergraduate qualification at a public university or you are registered at a TVET college for one of the National Certificate Vocational or report 191 programmes;
• You are applying to study at a public university or TVET college for a qualification;
• You are an already registered university student with an annual household income of less than R122 000 per year;
• You have passed Grade 9 & 10 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a TVET college;
• You have passed Grade 12 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a university.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
3. National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
8. An applicant known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
