Residents who are in need receive social assistance from the South African government. In South Africa, SASSA is in charge of managing social grants. People who are at risk of going hungry and who need government support to raise their standard of living may be eligible for social grants. Parents with young children, the elderly, and those with disabilities are commonly included. A social grant must be applied for by a citizen of South Africa, an authorized permanent resident, or a refugee (proof of such status must be provided). Additionally, they must be South African citizens.
A means test is what?
A “means test” is used to some social benefits, such as those for child support, impairments, caregiving, and social distress reduction. A means test based on your income and assets will be used by SASSA to evaluate your eligibility for a social grant. Your eligibility for a grant intended for persons who cannot afford to live independently is determined by the results of a means test.
Care dependency compensation
Grants for care dependence may be available to parents of handicapped children who are employed full-time. What total amount of funding will be distributed as part of this grant?
Every month, per child, is R1 860.
How do you determine if you qualify for the grant?
To be eligible for the care dependence award, the kid must be under the age of 18 and chronically disabled, as determined by a medical officer. If you’re married, you and your spouse must both meet the means test’s eligibility requirements. The articles mentioned below can be used to assist you with your Sassa application.
