Residents who are in need receive social assistance from the South African government. In South Africa, SASSA is in charge of managing social grants. Social grants may be available to those who are at danger of falling into poverty and who require government assistance to improve their standard of living. The elderly, those with impairments, and parents of young children are frequently included. What is a means test?
