Citizens in need are given social subsidies by the South African government. Social grants in South Africa are managed by the SASSA. People who are about to go hungry are given social subsidies if they need the government’s help to raise their level of living. Parents of small children, the elderly, and those with disabilities are frequently included in this group. You must be a South African citizen, a legal permanent resident, or a refugee to be qualified for a social grant (proof of such status must be provided). Additionally, they must be citizens of South Africa.
What is means test?

Care dependency compensation
Parents of handicapped children who work full time may be eligible for care dependence payments. How much money, in total, will be distributed as part of this grant?
Every month, per child, is R1 860.
How can you find out whether you’ve been given the grant?
To qualify for the care dependence award, the kid must be under the age of 18 and medically determined to be permanently disabled. If you’re married, both you and your spouse need to fulfill the means test eligibility standards.
