The amazing Covid Social Tough Situation Grant for Unemployed Adults, valued at R350, is now being accepted applications from the South African Government-Supported Retirement Association (Sassa).

Here is all the information you need to know about the cycle:

Requirements:

Candidates should be:

– older than 18 years old;

– jobless;

– without having any money;

– not being eligible for a social grant;

– not receiving any unemployment insurance benefits and not meeting the requirements for benefits;

– failing to receive payment under the Public Understudy Monetary Guidance Plan; and

– not residing in a building that is supported or funded by the government.

The following mandatory information must be provided by planned applicants in order for their applications to be processed:

– Identification Number;

– Name, Surname, and Initials as they appear on the ID;

– Disability and gender;

– Bank information, including account number;

– Phone number, including a cell number;

– Evidence of a home address;

How soon does it start paying out, and how long is it still legal?

All South Africans over the age of 18 who do not receive any other type of government assistance or pay are eligible for the initial R350 unique Coronavirus Social Alleviation of Pain (SRD) award, which has been around for a while and is scheduled to be given out on May 15.

How is it distributed?

The banks from which recipients can choose to withdraw money from ATMs if they don’t have bank accounts are varied.

Through the cash-sending capabilities of the big banks, money will be given to those without bank accounts.

Some systems, like eWallet for First National Bank and CashSend for Absa, just require information provided to a mobile phone number in order to withdraw money; no card or other form of identity verification is necessary.
