The SASSA strives to make the application process for R350 grants as straightforward and easy as possible. Therefore, GovChat is one method for submitting SRD award applications; continue reading to learn how.

The second batch of R350 grant applications were available early in August; submissions are being accepted through March 2023.

GovChat is one channel via which to submit an SRD funding application.

The following is how to do it:

1. Go to the GovChat website

2. Enter your phone number

3. Complete the Captcha

4. Click ‘LOGIN’

5. Click on ‘SASSA Services’

6. Click on ‘SASSA Grants’

7. Click on ‘Apply for a grant

8. Click on ‘Social relief of distress (R350)’

9. Click on ‘Create New Form’

10. Fill in the required information

11. Click on ‘SUBMIT PERSONAL DETAILS’

12. After that, you will be given a reference number.

Since SASSA will work with other institutions to verify the information provided by applicants, all applicants will be required to sign a statement and consent form.

You will receive payment after your application is accepted. Regardless of whether SASSA approved your R350 grant application, SASSA will continue to check to determine if you still qualify, so you won’t need to submit a new application every month. Since SASSA will work with other institutions to verify the information provided by applicants, all applicants will be required to sign a statement and consent form.
