The government of South Africa provides social handouts to residents in need. Social grants in South Africa are managed by SASSA. People who need government aid to raise their level of life and are at risk of sliding into poverty may be eligible for social grants. Parents with small children, the elderly, and those with disabilities are commonly included. A social grant must be requested by a South African national, authorized permanent resident, or refugee (proof of such status must be provided). Additionally, they must be residents of South Africa.
What is a means test?

Care dependency allowance

What is the best way to determine if you qualify for the grant?
The kid must be chronically handicapped and younger than 18 years old, as established by a medical officer, in order to be eligible for the care dependence award. The minimal qualifying standards for the means test must be met by both you and your spouse if you’re married.
