350 sassa 2023-2024
The South African government gives social subsidies to assist its citizens in need. The SASSA is responsible for managing social grants in South Africa. If a person is in risk of being hungry, social subsidies are offered to them in order to help them enhance their standard of living. The elderly, those with disabilities, and parents of small children often fall into this category. Social handouts are only available to South African citizens, lawful permanent residents, and refugees (proof of such status must be provided). Additionally, they must be South African nationals.
What is means test?
There is a “means test” for several social benefits, including child support, disability, care dependence, and social alleviation of suffering. In order to determine your eligibility for a social grant based on your income and assets, SASSA will use the means test. The means test establishes your eligibility for a subsidy intended for people who cannot afford to live independently.
Care dependency compensation
Parents of handicapped children who work full-time may be eligible for payments for care dependence. How much money will be distributed overall as part of this grant?
Every month, per child, is R1 860.
How can you find out whether you’ve been given the grant?
To qualify for the care dependence award, the kid must be under the age of 18 and medically determined to be permanently disabled. If you’re married, both you and your spouse need to fulfill the means test eligibility standards.
