  1. Go to www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Create a MyNSFAS Account
  3. Login into your Account
  4. Click on the Apply
  5. Complete the forms by filling in all the sections
  6. Click submit to send your application for review and possible approval

Remember not to skip a section when filling out your NSFAS online application forms if you want your application to be approved for funding.

Required Documents For Filling NSFAS Online Application

Before you can fill out your NSFAS application form online, you’ll need the documents below.

    1. A cell phone number
    2. An email address
    3. Certified copies of your Identification Documents (ID)
    4. You should have applied for a public institution and waiting for admission acceptance
    5. Certified or official copy of recent payslip, employment letter, not older than three months
    6. Prove household income (this includes SASSA grants, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), or retirement, disability, or other financial benefits you get.)
    7. Copy of parents/guardian/spouse/ Identification documents (if applicable)
    8. If you’re disability, you’ll complete a disability Annexure A and B and submit them

The government of South Africa has set up the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to provide Tvet colleges and public Universities students with financial assistance to cover the cost of registration, and tuition and provide allowances them with allowances for books, food, transport, and accommodation. The North-West University NWU invites applications from students who have met the requirements to apply for NSFAS Bursary 2024. NSFAS Online Application Opening And Closing Date

The NSFAS online application form for 2024 will be open on 2 November 2023 and close on 7 January 2024. Applicants are urged to take note of the application deadline and apply on time to avoid application rejection.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will require more information from you to process your application, so you need to provide the following supporting documents to ensure your application is successful.

  1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
  2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
  4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
  7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
  8. An applicant known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application Form

  1. Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
  3. Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
  4. Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
  5. Update your personal information
  6. Answer the questions you see on the screen
  7. Upload all the required supporting documents
  8. Finally, you click on ‘submit
